Early learning and care

Caring for Babies, 3-4 Class and Pre/Grade R

At Faithkids Educare, we understand that every stage of early childhood brings different needs, questions, and opportunities for growth. Our approach brings loving care and purposeful learning together for babies, toddlers, preschool children, and children preparing for the next step in their education. We serve families in The Hague, Cape Town, within a safe, loving, and Christ Centered learning environment.

Gentle care for babies

For babies, comfort and consistency matter. We focus on creating a calm environment where children can feel secure while they begin to explore the world around them. We pay attention to each child’s rhythms and respond with patience, warmth, and care.

Our infant care approach supports the foundations that babies are developing every day. Familiar routines, responsive interaction, movement, and age-appropriate exploration help children build confidence. We also recognise that parents know their children best, so clear communication is an important part of the relationship we build with each family.

Growing through the 3-4 class

Children in the 3-4 class are becoming more independent, expressive, and curious. We give them opportunities to learn through play, conversation, creative activity, movement, and guided discovery. These experiences help children practise social skills while developing language, coordination, and a growing sense of responsibility.

At this stage, children benefit from encouragement rather than pressure. We celebrate questions, effort, kindness, and participation as children learn to work alongside others. Our Christ-centered setting also gives us a meaningful way to nurture spiritual and emotional development alongside physical, social, and academic growth.

Preparing for Pre/Grade R

Pre-Kindergarten and Pre/Grade R are important stepping stones toward formal schooling. We help children strengthen the everyday abilities they will carry forward, including listening, following instructions, communicating ideas, completing simple tasks, and taking part in group activities.

We keep early learning active and relevant to children’s lives. A child might develop early literacy through sounds, stories, and conversation, or build early mathematical thinking while sorting, comparing, counting, and noticing patterns. We aim to help each child approach new learning with confidence while being known and supported as an individual.

What families can look for in an early learning setting

When families consider care and education, we encourage them to look beyond a timetable or classroom label. A nurturing setting should make room for the whole child and provide a dependable partnership with parents. Useful questions include:

  • How will my child be comforted and supported when they are unsettled?
  • How are play and learning connected to my child’s stage of development?
  • How will I receive updates about my child’s day and progress?
  • How does the setting support spiritual, emotional, social, physical, and academic growth?

These questions help families find an environment that reflects their values and their child’s needs. We are happy to discuss our Infant Care, Toddler Program, Preschool Classes, and Pre-Kindergarten options directly with parents.

Key takeaways

Babies need responsive care and secure routines. Children in the 3-4 class thrive when play, communication, and social learning are encouraged. Pre/Grade R preparation is strongest when children develop confidence and practical readiness alongside early academic skills.
